LET US RISE UP AND PRAY (THE MEN OF UNDERSTANDING WE CAN FOLLOW – 1)

SATURDAY’S INSPIRATION – PART 265 (07/26/2025)

Hello Family and Friends,
We’ve learned that understanding produces kindness, empathy, self-control, teachability, and spiritual maturity. Today, let’s look at two men in Scripture whose understanding made them models we can follow.

1. LUKE – A DISCIPLE OF UNDERSTANDING
Luke 1:1–3 shows us that Luke had perfect understanding from the beginning and used it to document the life of Jesus with clarity and accuracy.
> “It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus...”

Luke’s understanding drove him to contribute greatly to the spread of the Gospel through his writing and ministry.

2. HIRAM – A MAN OF WISDOM AND SKILL
1 Kings 7:13–14 tells us that Hiram, a skilled craftsman, was filled with wisdom and understanding and used his abilities to build for God’s house.
> “He was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass...”
Hiram used his gifts and understanding to serve in the construction of Solomon’s temple—a powerful example of how natural skills can be used for God’s glory.

THE CALL TO ACTION
Brethren, let us learn from Luke and Hiram. Let’s use our knowledge, wisdom, understanding, time, and resources to advance the Gospel and support the physical building of churches.

> “…Always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
(1 Corinthians 15:58)

Let us rise up with understanding—and act.

Blessings,
Eric Boateng
