WEEKEND’S INSPIRATION- PART 183 ( 08/25/2024).
Hello family and friends, there are many issues that make Christians move away from their beliefs or faith among which are:
1. BITTERNESS
Bitterness moves us away from God:- Hebrews 12:11;
“ Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.”
Bitterness is deep-seated long standing complicated offense. Many people who walk out of churches are offended Christians who become bitter. They were probably genuinely offended, and their wounds never healed. Satan uses bitterness to isolate Christians and then, that person becomes vulnerable to his attacks.The book of Hebrews warns us that bitterness can trouble us greatly. Let us therefore beware of the spirit of bitterness!
2. MURMURS AND REBELLIONS. We must not be moved to join murmurers and rebellious people:- Philippians 2:14;” Do all things without murmurings and disputings.”
Murmuring means to complain, to grumble, to mumble, to criticize and to rebel. God is against those who murmur. He was very much disappointed with the people of Israel when they murmured against Him and Moses; and all those people did not make it to the promise land.
Finally, there is one sin that is compared to witchcraft in the Bible; that is, the sin of rebellion:- 1 Samuel 15:23;
“ For Rebellion is as ( like) the sin of witchcraft…”
Every rebellious child of God has rejected legitimate authority in his or her life. Rebellion stems from the heart. All rebellious people are heading towards destruction. Let us take a cue from what happened to the Prodigal Son ( was eating pigs’ food), Judas, Absalom, Adonijah, Ahithophel and Lucifer!
