WEEKEND’S INSPIRATION- PART 200 ( 12/15/2024).
Hello family and friends, to be zealous is to be on fire for God. It is not what we confess or portray to the world as to who we are, but how God sees our hearts, sees us in our secret places, and the genuineness of whatever we are doing for His kingdom. Most Christians are completely different from what they portray to the world!
One key that will help us become zealous Christians is by FASTING OFTEN. Fasting is not an option if we want to be zealous Christians. Jesus said this in Matthew 6:16;” When ye fast….”. He did not say “ If ye fast…”. This means that Jesus expects all His followers to fast.
Fasting helps us to stay humble. Pride is something we must strive to avoid. For the Bible says that “ PRIDE COMES BEFORE A FALL.”
In James 4:10; the Bible says,” Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” When the Psalmist fasted in Psalm 35:13;” he said, “ I HUMBLE MYSELF WITH FASTING.”
Carrying our pastors Bibles and Bags , speaking softly or walking slowly are not signs of humility. God says we can humble ourselves through fasting.
Furthermore, some problems that can kill our zeal must be solved through fasting:- Matthew 17:21;“….THIS KIND goeth not out but by PRAYER and FASTING.” Not all problems are the same. In this scripture, Jesus said there are certain problems that can only be solved by Prayer and Fasting.
We will be able to to walk in zealous Christianity when many of our spiritual problems are solved to give us the necessary joy and peace. This can only be achieved through effective fervent PRAYERS AND FASTING ( Matthew 17:21)!
